Mission

To advance fundamental knowledge in the field of molecular cell biology, and to apply such knowledge to the understanding, and the prevention of and treatment of human diseases

Specific Objectives

To encourage and carry out fundamental research, focusing on the application of molecular biology in medicine.   To provide international post-graduate training facilities in molecular biology and biomolecular engineering.
To establish a national source-laboratory of state-of-the-art technologies and expertise in molecular biology.   To accelerate development of  biotechnology competence in Indonesia, as a focal-point in the national collaborative network.
To apply the technologies to the advancement of the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases of the tropics.   To promote international scientific exchanges by formal links with overseas institutions and attracting visiting scholars.
To produce by biomolecular engineering, novel reagents for diagnosis and therapy.   To attract research funds by establishing an international recognition of the Institute’s research excellence.
