Ayu received her Master of Public Health degree with a thesis in the evaluation of rabies elimination program. She also has a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and completed her research in molecular characterization of Newcastle disease virus with SDS-PAGE. Before joining EOCRU in 2021, she has worked for 15 years as an Epidemiologist at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations based in Jakarta, where her main role was to assist the Ministry of Agriculture of Indonesia to control zoonosis and Emerging Infectious Diseases (EIDs), particularly Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) and rabies. At the mission she was involved in animal health capacity development, rabies vaccination campaign, disease outbreak investigation, and epidemiology studies. Her competencies include one-health, statistical data analysis, participatory approach, GIS, and SNA.
