Iskandar started working at the Eijkman Institute in 2001 and was responsbile for immunogenetic study on tubercolosis in 2001. In 2006, he joined Forensic DNA Laboratory as research assistant. 

Iskandar is currently pursuing his Master's degree from Biomedical Program in University of Indonesia.
