Dr. Myint received her M.D. from Institute of Medicine, Yangoon, Myanmar and obtained her PhD from University of Liverpool, UK. She is currently a clinical virologist and the Head of EVRU at the Eijkman Institute. Prior working with the Eijkman Institute, Dr. Myint works in Virology Department at the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medical Sciences in Bangkok for 22 years. Her special interest is in capacity building, research and characterization of arboviruses and has worked extensively with hepatitis E, influenza, leptospirosis and in the field of pathogen discovery. She has conducted human, animal, and laboratory studies on the transmission and pathogenesis of viral diseases.
