Novra A. Sandi is a veterinarian by profession and public health researcher by training under WHO-TDR in International Health and Tropical Medicine. He previously worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant at the Department of Clinical Pathology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) from 2012 until 2018. He has training in clinical laboratory fields including involvement in both long-term and short-term projects of zoonotic diseases from livestock animals (funding from DGHE & ACIAR), companion animals (funding from INDOHUN-USAID), and captive wildlife animals (funding from BKSDA Yogyakarta). In 2014, he joined his very first One Health training that was organized by the Indonesia One Health University Network (INDOHUN) and US-AID, and ever since has been applying that knowledge and experience towards his veterinary and public health practices. In 2016-2017 he joined INDOHUN as a research assistant and program officer for the developing One Health Laboratory Network (OHLN) in Indonesia. In 2016, he founded the Center for Immunopathobiology, Preventive and Diagnostic Medicine (CIPDM), a biomedical and health-related think-do-tank for junior researchers in health science-related backgrounds (such as physician, veterinarian, pharmacist, epidemiologist, biostatistician, and ecologist). Recently in August 2021, he joined EOCRU as a research assistant for coordinating a study on “Evaluating Zoonotic Malaria Tansmission and Agricultural and Forestry Land Use in Indonesia (ZOOMAL).
